Security forces have busted three militant hideouts in Kashmir Valley during the past 24 hours, recovering large quantity of arms and ammunition.

"Acting on a specific intelligence input regarding presence of a cache of arms and ammunition in Poshwani area of Pattan in Baramulla district, a joint search operation was launched by Army and police today," a defence spokesman said.

He said during the search of the area, security forces recovered two AK 47 rifles along with three magazines and 79 rounds of ammunition.

The other recoveries included three rounds of RPG, one round of 51mm RPG, one UBGL, 13 rounds of UBGL, three IED circuit along with 100 grams of explosive and four hand grenades.

In another operation, security forces recovered two AK rifles, three magazines, 221 AK rounds, six pistols and 80 assorted rounds of ammunition from a militant hideout from Beaswali forest in Kupwara district yesterday, defence sources said.

During another joint operation, a hideout was busted in Okhapani forests in Handwara area of Kupwara district. Huge quantity of administrative stores which includes over 100 kgs of dry ration, cooking oil and condiments were recovered from the hideout.
