Security heightened, red alert sounded in Jammu region

After the twin terror attack in which 12 people were killed including an army officer on Thursday, red alert has been sounded in the Jammu region.

Jammu: After the twin terror attack in which 12 people were killed including an army officer on Thursday, red alert has been sounded in the Jammu region.

Security has been beefed up outside different army camps and police headquarters. Also, Jammu-Pathankot national highway has been closed following the attack.

There is increased checking for all route buses and additional check-posts have been raised in the Jammu region. At Jammu-Tawi Railway Station, General Bust Stand and Jammu airport security has been heightened.
All three terrorists who were involved in the twin terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir were killed in fierce gunfight as the Army operation in the Samba district ended on Thursday.
The attack came three days ahead of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh-Nawaz Sharif meeting in the US.
