Ranchi: At least 23 labourers were killed and 11 others injured Thursday when the truck carrying them went off the road and fell into a ditch in Garwah district of Jharkhand, police said.
The truck was carrying around 45 people, mostly labourers, when it is suspected to have hit a tree and jumped off the road near Bhagwan Ghati in Garwah district, around 140 km from here.
"Rescue operations have been launched. The injured have been admitted in the local hospital," Richard Lakra, Garwah superintendent of police, told a news agency.
