68% households don`t have electricity: Jharkhand Minister

Deputy Chief Minister Sudesh Mahto on Thursday said 68 per cent of the households in Jharkhand did not have electricity while 73 per cent lived in kutcha houses.

on Thursday said 68 per cent of the households in Jharkhand did not
have electricity while 73 per cent lived in kutcha houses.

"We have these challenges and we got an opportunity to
address them despite getting a fractured mandate," Mahto, the
AJSU-LP leader said while speaking in favour of the
government-sponosred confidence motion in the state assembly.

Listing the government`s priorities on
electrification, housing, employment, migration and
displacement, Mahto said naxalism was also on the topmost
agenda for a lasting solution.

Referring to the dialogue between Andhra Pradesh
government and the Naxalites some years ago, Mahto said an
atmosphere for talks should be created and assured the house
that the government was serious about addressing problems
facing the state.
