Anna Hazare gets support from rural Jharkhand

Candle light marches, human chains and closure of some schools were reported from Jharkhand in support of Anna.

Ranchi: Support for Anna Hazare`s crusade
against corruption has spread to rural areas with reports of
candle light marches, human chains and closure of some schools
pouring in for the third day on Thursday in Jharkhand.

Several schools in the state observed a day’s closure
in support of Hazare?s crusade against corruption with
students forming human chains at towns, block headquarters and
areas like Chano in Ranchi district and villages adjoining
Musabani and Ghatsilla of East Singhbhum district, police
sources said.

Students of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, today
took out a procession from City Centre to Gandhi Chowk and are
planning a candle light march this evening.

We are against corruption at any level, and to rein
in corruption a strong Jan Lokpal Bill as suggested by Anna
Hazare should be brought in, said ISM final year student
Arpit Goel.

In Jamtara, a group of different age groups last night
took out an `umbrella procession` as rains lashed the town,
one of the protestors Ashutosh Kumar said.

In Dumka, students of SKM University boycotted
classes today, forcing the management to suspend classes for
the day, the President of Teachers Union, Gagan Thakur, said.

Bar Associations of Dhanbad and Jamshedpur today
joined the protests today by boycotting courts.

Jharkhand People’s Party president SS Besra said,
this is the 11th time that a Lokpal bill tabled in Parliament
in the last 40 years. Hope, this time it is successful
in covering Prime Minister and the higher judiciary as well.

Our party also demands that all chief ministers
should be covered under the Lokayukt of respective states,
Besra, a former JPP MLA, said.
