Eight killed as iron ore laden dumper overturns

Jamshedpur: Eight persons were killed and four others were seriously injury when an iron-ore laden dumper in which they were travelling overturned near Raika village in West Singhbhum district on Monday, official sources said.

"At least eight persons were killed after the dumper overturned," Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Jagannathpur, Bhism Kumar said.

He said around 15 people were on the ill-fated dumper when the incident took place in the forest area near Raika village.

The driver and the assistant, however, escaped from the scene, the SDO added. A police team rushed to the spot and details were being awaited, he said adding the incident will be probe.
