Jawan killed in encounter with Maoists in Jharkhand

Medininagar (Jharkhand): A jawan of Bihar
Military Police (BMP) was killed and two others sustained
injuries in an encounter with Maoists in Palamu district of
Jharkhand, police said here on Saturday.
Pultas Sharma was killed in the encounter that lasted for
about four hours last night near Kanda Ghati under Bisrampur
police station in the district, Superintendent of Police Jatin
Narwal told reporters.
He said the injured were airlifted to Medininagar, the
headquarters of Palamu district and were referred to a private
hospital in Ranchi.

The encounter ensued after Maoists attacked a cluster
centre at Nawa, he said.
