Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Chief
Minister Arjun Munda on Sunday laid the foundation stone of the
ambitious "mid-day meal initiative" project targeting one lakh
school children in and around Jamshedpur town.

The project, which was being developed on
private-public-partnership model among Tata Steel, government

functioning in next four to five months time.

The mid-day meal initiative on PPP model was to
provide about one lakh children of primary schools (Government
and aided schools) quality food. This will not only attract
children to continue their studies but also keep them healthy,
he said.

The chief minister urged Tata Steel Managing Director
HM Nerurkar, who shared the dias with him in the function, to
take care of the project under its command areas including
Noamundi in West Singhbhum district and Dhanbad while he would
take up the issue with others in rest of the state to
introduce the project for school children.
