NBW issued against Cong MLA Yogendra Sao in Jharkhand

A local court on Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Congress MLA Yogendra Sao, four days after he resigned from the Hemant Soren Cabinet.

Hazaribagh (Jharkhand): A local court on Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Congress MLA Yogendra Sao, four days after he resigned from the Hemant Soren Cabinet.

Sao resigned on September 12 following allegations by arrested 'Jharkhand Tiger' head Rajat Kumar Gupta that Sao had founded the alleged ultra outfit.

The Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate, Hazaribagh, issued the NBW to Sao, his brother Dhirendra Sao and cousin Pawan Sao after the police had yesterday prayed to the court for issuance of NBW as they did not turn up for questioning even after being served with notices, Investigating Officer (IO) A K Singh said here.

The police placed all facts and mobile call details of the arrested persons talking to the former minister before the court, he added.

Superintendent of Police Manoj Kaushik has formed a four-member team headed by Singh to investigate the case lodged after the arrest of Rajat Kumar Gupta and three others on September 1.

During their interrogation, Gupta accused Yogendra Sao of founding the ultra outfit for extortion in the coal belt, police said.
