Kharsawan: Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda on Sunday said there is no place for middlemen in his government.

"Middlemen won't be spared, so also those failing to implement developmental programmes within a time-frame while ensuring quality work," Munda said while addressing a meeting here.

Promising help to farmers reeling under severe drought for the last two years, Munda said 25 wells would be dug up in each village while deep-boring wells would be made available to the farmers with government's help.

"You can dig wells at your backyard, and government will help even if it is on private land," he said adding institutions for higher studies, which had been shelved by previous governments, would be revived.

Committing transparency in his governance, Munda said the ensuing panchayat elections would further strengthen transparency following devolution of power at the grassroots.
