Ranchi: Encouraged by its success in
Arunachal Pradesh assembly elections where it secured five
seats, Trinamool Congress today said it would contest the
ensuing Jharkhand polls.
"We have not yet finalised the exact number of seats, but
we are thinking of putting up candidates in 25 to 30 seats,"
TC leader and Union Minister of State for Shipping Mukul Roy
told reporters here.
The party is not averse to a tie-up with non-BJP and
non-left parties in Jharkhand, he said.
"Our performance in Arunachal Pradesh where five of our
candidates won reflects our leader Mamata Banerjee`s
popularity. In Jharkhand too we are keen to repeat the
performance," Roy said.
