Facing the compulsion of conducting election to the city civic polls under directions of the Karnataka High Court, ruling BJP on Saturday held its Core Committee meeting to discuss its preparedness for the elections.

meeting to discuss its preparedness for the elections.

The meeting attended by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa,
Rural Development Minister Jagadish Shettar, National General
Secretary H N Anantkumar, State unit party president K S
Eswarappa, former president D V Sadanand Gowda,discussed the
court`s order and steps to be taken to fight the Bruhut
Bangalore Mahanagara Palike polls.

Eshwarappa told reporters that the meeting expressed
confidence in the party winning the election showcasing the
development works initiated by government in Bangalore City.

He said the government was not contemplating filing a
special leave petition before the Supreme Court challenging
the High Court order which has directed the government to hold
elections by March 30.

The meeting also dwelt briefly on the upcoming gram
panchayat polls due to be held in April and exuded confidence
that the party would put up a good show in it also.
