DC directed to visit naxal-affected villages

The district administration directed the taluk officials to compulsorily visit naxal-affected villages in the district.

Shimoga: The district administration on Saturday
directed the taluk officials here to compulsorily visit
naxal-affected villages in the district and review actions
taken to provide facilities to people residing there.

"Taluk officials should not file reports while sitting in
their offices without proper verification of the action
taken in providing need based facilities to the people living
in such villages", Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj told
reporters here.

Only when the officials make personal visit to these
villages they would be able to restore confidence among
people, Ponnuraj said and said there should be no slackness in
implementation of naxal package programs in the district.
