Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court today ordered issue of notice to the state government and two others in a matter related to the suspension of assistant conservator of forests (Ankola sub-division) Narendra C Hittelamakki.

Hittelamakki had approached the high court challenging the orders of the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal, which had dismissed his application.

The official had seized eight trucks carrying loads of iron ore illegally and also seized eight lakh tonnes of ore stored in various jetties at Belekeri Port on the charge that they were brought without valid permits in March 2010.

Later, 5.10 lakh tonnes of the seized load was lost and a complaint was lodged with Lokayukta holding Hittelamakki responsible.

In April 2010, a raid was conducted on his house and he was suspended in April this year. When he challenged the suspension at the tribunal, it was dismissed.
Hittelamakki claimed in his appeal that he was suspended without any proper reason and held the mining lobby responsible for his suspension.

Notices were also ordered to be issued to Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and ADGP Lokayukta.
