Bangalore: The Karnataka Unaided Schools Management`s Association on Wednesday called off its three day stir in protest against implementation of Right to Education Act and rules framed by government, on a plea by Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar to come in for talks to arrive at a solution.
The rules include norms to determine Religious and Linguistic minority institution tag.
"The association has decided to end the strike and reopen schools from tomorrow keeping in mind the interests of the students and also the plea from Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar," KUSMA Secretary A Mariyappa said here.
Many schools of the 1800 coming under KUSMA`s fold had remained closed in the last three days while some had refused to toe its line.
Mariyappa said Association President G S Sharma has resigned his post, but refused to give reasons for it.
The association had gone on a week-long stir on July 16.
Meanwhile KUSMA in a press statement said it has failed to secure an appropriate response to its planned protest between July 16 and July 22 and alleged it has become a victim of vested interests, who have `sabotaged` their protest.
The association said it would soon convene a satyagraha by calling for participation of all 1800 members and parents in those institutions.
