Bengaluru: The body of an eight-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped and murdered, was found in an isolated place near Hoskote on the outskirts of the city, police said.
The incident came to light when the parents started searching for the girl on not finding her at home after returning from work last evening, they said.
Police said the parents of the girl, who is a class two student, hail from Hubballi and had come to the city in search of work.
Stating that search is on to nab the culprit, police said they have obtained CCTV footage from a nearby shop which shows a middle-aged man with the girl.
Police also suspect the man to be a local person and someone who was known to the girl.
