Successor to Udupi Admar Math announced

A young engineering graduate from Shiroor in Hiriyadka near here, Sreesha Shiroor has been announced as the successor of Sri Viswapriya Theertha Swamiji of the Udupi Admar Math.

Mangalore: A young engineering graduate from Shiroor in Hiriyadka near here, Sreesha Shiroor has been announced as the successor of Sri Viswapriya Theertha Swamiji of the Udupi Admar Math.

Sreesha (29) a mechanical engineering graduate from Jawaharlal college of engineering, Shimoga was born on March 20, 1985 as the son of Chandrasekhar and Gowri.

The Admar Math trust runs many educational institutions. The decision to appoint an educated person as the successor was to ensure effective functioning of the same, a Mutt release said.

Sreesha was interested in spirituality from a very early age. He had completed many primary courses in religious rituals and related subjects. He would be trained for taking up Sanyasa under renowned scholars like Padubidri Lakshminarayana and Ganapati Acharya.

Sreesha said he would try to live upto the expectations of his Guru who had entrusted him with great responsibilities.

Sreesha would be taking up Upasanyasa and be declared as the successor of the Math on June 19. He has great interest towards religious duties and would be successful in managing the Math, Swami Viswapriya Theertha said in a statement.
