Kerala Cabinet decides to go ahead with appointments in PSUs

The Kerala Cabinet Wednesday decided to go ahead with the process of appointments in 10 new public sector units set up recently by the government, subject to clearance from the Election Commission of India.

10 new public sector units set up recently by the government,
subject to clearance from the Election Commission of India.

Addressing a press conference after a Cabinet meeting
here, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said it has also been
resolved to continue with the steps to upgrade some schools
before the beginning of the new academic year.

State government had decided to create more than 1800
new posts in ten public sector units that started functioning
early this year.

It was also decided to extend a compensation of Rs
10,000 each per hectare for crop losses suffered by farmers at
Kuttanad in Alappuzha due to summer rains.

This also would be possible after getting clearance
from the Election Commission, he said.
