Kerela’s Territorial Army Unit wins Southern Command Unit citation

New Delhi: Kerala`s one and only Territorial Army unit based in Kannur has won the prestigious Southern Command Unit citation for the best Territorial Army unit, according to a release here Tuesday.

Kannur Territorial Army Commanding officer Col BS Bali and Subedar Major Ramachandran received the award from Southern Army Command Lt Gen A K Singh at the Army Day function organised at Jhansi Rani Fort, Jhansi, it said.

This is for the first time, the Territorial Army unit in Kannur secured the award in its 64 years of history.

Last year, it had received The Chief of the Army Staff`s Silver Trophy for the year 2012 for the best TA unit in the country.
