Kozhikode basts: Shammi Firoz granted bail by Kerala HC

Kerala High Court on Thursday granted bail to Shammi Firoz, a key accused in the Kozhikode twin bomb blast case of March 2006, who later turned approver.

Earlier, the CBI special court, the designated court for
cases of National Intelligence Agency (NIA) had declared Firoz
as approver in the case.
Justice V Ramkumar granted bail subject to certain
stringent conditions. He has to remit a bond of rs 25,000 and
two solvent sureties for the like amount and file an
affidavit before the NIA court stating that his release on
bail shall be at his own risk. He has been asked not to leave
Ernakulam district.

Firoz, the seventh accused in the case, had been arrested
by NIA in march this year when he arrived from Dubai to Kochi.

Alleged Let militant, T Nazeer, is also an accused in the
case.

The blasts took place at KSRTC and mofussil bus stands at
Kozhikode causing panic.
