Vigilance inquiry against KAU`s VC

The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau was directed to investigate the allegations of corruption against Kerala Agricultural University VC.

Thrissur: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau was on Tuesday directed to investigate the allegations of corruption against Kerala Agricultural University Vice
Chancellor K R Viswambharan and submit a report by June 20.

The direction was issued by Inquiry Commissioner and Special Judge (Vigilance) V Bhaskaran while considering a petition filed by BJP farmer’s wing Karshaka Morcha state president R Chandrasekharan alleging that the Vice Chancellor had out of the way promoted certain assistant professors as associate professors.
The petitioner also alleged that Viswambharan along with former Comptroller of the KAU, E Nanu, and former Registrar of the university Joby V Paul had jointly "earned" several lakhs of Rupees by giving out of the way promotion to the faculty of the University.
