Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh BJP has announced its candidates for Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur mayoral elections to be held on January 31, party sources said here on Sunday.

On the other hand, the Congress has not been able to declare its candidates from the three places due to differences among its leaders, party insiders said.

Alok Sharma, Malini Gaud and Swati Godbole are chosen as mayor candidates for Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur respectively at a meeting chaired by state BJP chief and MP Nandkumar Singh Chauhan.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, former MP CMs Sunderlal Patwa and Kailash Joshi, besides senior party leader Vikram Verma among others also participated at the meeting of the party's Madhya Pradesh state election committee, BJP leader Hitesh Vajpayee said.

However, Madhya Pradesh state Congress chief Arun Yadav said that his party would decide its candidate tomorrow since the last date to file nomination papers for the mayoral elections is January 6.

Congress party's central observers are at different places and doing their job, he said, denying any differences among leaders about choosing candidates.
