Indore: The Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday said it is hopeful of strengthening its image as an industry-friendly state after the Global Investors' Summit (GIS) is held here from October 8-10.

"We are hopeful that after the three-day summit, Madhya Pradesh will further strengthen its image as an industry-friendly state and it will be able to attract major investment in infotech, garments, petrochemicals, fertilisers and other areas," Madhya Pradesh's Public Relations Commissioner S K Mishra told reporters here.

He claimed that during the summit, the state would be able attract investors on the basis of its progressive policies and peaceful industrial atmosphere.

Speaking about the proposed scheme of 187 industrial centres being merged with the Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN), he said that no final decision has been taken in this regard and only objections have been invited on the issue.
