Lokayukta sleuths raid Deputy Collector`s property

Lokayukta police on Thursday raided three places here belonging to Deputy Collector HC Soni and unearthed assets worth over Rs one crore.

Ujjain: Lokayukta police on Thursday raided three places here belonging to Deputy Collector HC Soni and unearthed assets worth over Rs one crore.

Soni is posted in neighbouring Shajapur district of Madhya Pradesh.

The raid was carried out simulataneously at all the places in Ujjain by a 20-member team of Lokayukta officials. So far we have recovered details of properties worth Rs 1.40 crore, Lokayukta SP, Arun Mishra told reporters.

During the raids, Lokayukta sleuths detected a house in Vaishali Nagar area, two residence-cum-shops at Laxmi Nagar and Shaheed Park area respectively and an agriculture land near Shani Mandir area.

They also found about two of his bank lockers which are yet to be opened, he said adding further details are being worked out.
