Madhya Pradesh floods: Situation worsens in Vidisha

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued about 150 people from Vrindavan garden last evening who were caught in the flood.

Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh): The flood situation has deteriorated in Madhya Pradesh` Vidisha as waters from Betwa river entered in some parts of the city.

As per reports, more than 40 villages in Raisen district are on alert due to swollen Narmada.The water released from overflowing Tawa dam in Madhya Pradesh has flooded low-lying areas in some areas of Hoshangabad.

The normal life has been badly disturbed in Vidisha as Betwa is flowing above danger mark.Flood water has entered in some parts of the city. Essential services like water and power supply have been affected.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued about 150 people from Vrindavan garden last evening who were caught in the flood. More than 1,500 people have been taken to safer places in Vidisha.

In Raisen, situation has worsened in areas situated near Narmada as the river is in spate. A school holiday has been announced in Vidisha, Raisen and Bhopal district today as a precautionary measure.
