Saibaba devotee moves court against Dwarka Peeth seer

A complaint was on Tuesday filed in a local court against the Shankaracharya of Dwaraka Peeth Swaroopananda Saraswati for his alleged remarks against Saibaba of Shirdi.

Indore: A complaint was on Tuesday filed in a local court against the Shankaracharya of Dwaraka Peeth Swaroopananda Saraswati for his alleged remarks against Saibaba of Shirdi.

The complaint was filed by a law student, Abhishek Bhargava (23) before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Dilip Gupta.

"The court has posted the matter to August 20," said Abhishek`s counsel Sanskar Bhargava.

"The statement of Shankracharya against the Sai Baba has deeply hurt the feelings of a large number of his devotees," the complaint alleged.

The plaint is filed under sections 295 A (deliberately hurting religious sentiments) and 298 (statement given with an intention to hurt religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code and has sought trying of the seer before the court.
