Bhopal: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Wednesday issued notices to the Madhya Pradesh government and state police over killing of eight SIMI terrorists who had escaped from Bhopal's Khandwa jail.

The NHRC issued notices to Madhypa Pradesh’s chief secretary, director general of police, director general of prisons and inspector general of prisons for the killing alleged activists of the Students Islamic Movement of India.

On October 30-31st night, eight SIMI terrorists slit the throat of a prison guard and absconded from the Bhopal Central Jail. Hours later, they all were killed in a confrontation with police on the outskirts of the city.

A day after the encounter, the family members of killed SIMI terrorists are reportedly planning to approach the Madhya Pradesh High Court seeking a CBI probe into what they dubbed as "cold-blooded murders".
