East African student held for molesting foreigner

An East African student was arrested for allegedly molesting a foreigner and extorting money from her.

Pune: An East African student was on Friday
arrested for allegedly molesting a foreigner and extorting
money from her, police said.

The accused Samtar Ahmed Abdullahi, who is pursuing a
computer course from a city-based college, had invited the
victim, a student of Bachelor of Business Administration, to
his residence at Shalimar Hill Park Society in suburban
Kondhwa on April 9.

He allegedly molested her at knife-point and also shot an
obscene video clip of the victim. He then extorted about USD
4,900 from her after threatening to upload the video on the
internet.

On Tuesday, the victim lodged a complaint against
Abdullahi at the Kondhwa Police Station.

The accused has been remanded in police custody till
April 23.
