Four NCP activists held for ransacking Janarajya Party office

The police arrested four youth activists of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) late last night, the police said here on Friday.

Nashik: The police arrested four youth activists of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) late last night, the police said here on Friday.

The names of arrested youth activists are Dhiraj Magar, Vaibhav Devre, Mukesh Shevale and Amol Naik, the police said.

Those arrested have been booked under Sections 452, 323, 504, 427 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for entering the Janarajya Party office in Pawan Nagar locality yesterday and manhandling Prashant Hiray, ransacking his office, car, laptop computer as well as mobile phone, while shouting pro-Chhagan Bhujbal slogans, the police said.

Meanwhile, Vaibhav Devre, a resident of Swami Vivekanand Nagar at CIDCO also lodged a cross complaint against Prashant Hiray and Janarajya Party activists for allegedly abusing them and posting objectionable remarks against Maharashtra Public Works Department Minister Chhagan Bhujbal on its Facebook account, the police said, adding that an offence against Hiray and his activists were registered last night.

According to the complaint lodged by NCP youth activist Vaibhav Devre against Nashik District Central Co-operative Bank Chairman Prashant Hiray, when NCP youth activists went to Hiray`s house to ask him about anti-Bhujbal remarks, Hiray and his activists allegedly abused and manhandled them.

After this, angry NCP activists rushed to the Janarajya Party office and ransacked Hiray`s office and car, according to Devre`s complaint, the police said.
