Mumbai: Maharashtra`s Anti-terrorism Squad on Thursday recovered a huge cache of arms and arrested one person in this connection from suburban Chembur in Mumbai.
On a tip-off, ATS arrested Kailash Singh (28) at Amar Mahal Junction and seized arms and ammunition that included one carbine, 10 foreign made pistols and 50 cartridges from his possession, ATS Chief K P Raghuvanshi told media persons.

ATS claimed that the arms were meant to be delivered to an unknown person in Mumbai.
Preliminary investigations revealed that he had brought the weapons to the city from north India, Raghuvanshi said adding that they were yet to find out what was his role in carrying the weapons.

However, the ATS chief clarified that Singh did not belong to any terror outfit.

A lower court in Mumbai sent the accused to 10 days police custody. ATS is further investigating the matter.
