Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Monday directed officials to review damage to crops in the state due to untimely rains.

"The Chief Minister asked to conduct a survey of districts having crop damage due to untimely rains. I have instructed the Guardian Secretaries and District Collectors accordingly," Chief Secretary J P Dange said.

A meeting in this regard was held by Dange at Mantralaya (state secretariate). The Guardian secretaries would visit the concerned districts in couple of days.
There is no approximate estimate of the damage. It would be figured after the review. In some parts, the crops were harvested but few still have standing crops which suffered more damage, Dange said.
