`Maha Lok Adalat` held in Thane

The Maha Lok Adalat was organised in 12 courts in the district simultaneously where the pending cases were decided.

Thane: Justice SC Dharmadhikari of the Mumbai High court on Sunday inaugurated Maha Lok Adalat in the district court here today where about 63,000 pending cases
were listed for hearing.

Thane district and sessions Judge KK Sonawane, Thane District Courts Bar Association President PB Bhosale and other judges of the court were present at the function.

Compromise is not surrender, nor is it withdrawal. But it is a process by which the matters of litigation are brought to an end through an amicable settlement and which is an
inevitable part of the legal system, he said.

The panels comprised of one sitting Judge, one practising advocate and a social worker and the district court saw a huge crowd of litigants all through the day today.
