Mumbai: Mumbai Police said on Saturday it has identified the owner of the motorcycle which was used in firing at Film City here in which one person was critically injured.

Two unidentified assailants opened fire at one Raju Shinde yesterday inside Film City, close to spot where actor Amitabh Bachchan was shooting.

Shinde is the owner of Trinity security agency that provides security guards for film shootings and an office bearer of Shiv Sena's film wing 'Chitrapat Sena'.

"We have identified the owner of the motorcycle we seized yesterday. We are very much hopeful to nab the assailants very soon," Additional Commissioner (North region), Mumbai Police, Fateh Singh Patil.

Police also said that it seems to be a case of business rivalry.

The assailants had left their motorcycle into the forest while they were chased by a security staff at the spot.

Patil, however, declined to delve into further details of the investigation. He said condition of Shinde is stable and they are awaiting the victim's statement.

"Once we get Shinde's statement, we would be able to get more information related to our investigation," the official said.

Meanwhile, an officer at Aarey Police station, under the jurisdiction of which the incident took place, said a team of police will soon send bullets for forensic tests and are monitoring the CCTV footages.

The officer also ruled out the possibility of any underworld connection in the incident and said it is a case of business rivalry.
