Prithviraj Chavan on Tuesday stated in the Legislative Assembly
that no action has been taken yet with regard to papers
related to Adarsh Society case going missing from the Urban
Development Department, since CBI is probing the case.
In a written reply to Suryakant Dalvi (Shiv Sena) and
others, Chavan said an FIR was registered by the Marine Drive
police on the UDD`s complaint about missing papers on November
26, 2010.
"The case was being investigated by the Crime Branch of
Mumbai police. Following a PIL filed in the High Court, the
case was handed over to CBI on February 17 this year. No
action has been taken against any government official as the
case is under investigation," Chavan said.
He said Retired judge, Justice JA Patil, is heading a
two-member judicial commission set up by the government to
probe the case.
The commission would look into the issues such as the
ownership of the land on which Adarsh came up, whether the
plot was reserved for kin of Kargil war martyrs, whether CRZ
norms were violated, eligibility of the society members,
de-reservation of adjoining plot meant for BEST bus depot,
and reduction of width of the road leading to the society, he
said.
