Patil pays surprise visit to Naxal-hit Gadchiroli

Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil, who was recently appointed as the Guardian Minister of Naxal-infested Gadchiroli district, today paid a surprise visit to the interior places there.

Naxal-infested Gadchiroli district, today paid a surprise
visit to the interior places there.

Patil accompanied by Director General of State Police,
A N Roy, Special Director General of CRPF Vijay Raman, Deputy
Inspector General of Police, Sunil Ramanand and SP Gadchiroli
S Jaykumar toured Dhanora, Murumgaon, Laheri and Aheri areas,
official sources said.

He also met the policemen from District Police and CRPF
jawans deployed for tackling the Naxalites in Dhanora and
Pomke and visited Talathi office.

This was first visit by Patil after his appointment as
district Guardian Minister, official sources added.
