Railways to run 60 special trains for Ganesh festival

Sixty special trains will become operational during Ganesh Chaturthi festival to clear the extra rush of passengers, the bookings for which will begin from tomorrow, railway officials said on Saturday.

Mumbai: Sixty special trains will become operational during Ganesh Chaturthi festival to clear the extra rush of passengers, the bookings for which will begin from tomorrow, railway officials said on Saturday.

Central Railway (CR) announced that Train no 01001 CST Mumbai Madgaon CST Mumbai Special will leave CST Mumbai at 12.20 midnight daily (except Thursday) from Sept 11 to Sept 29 and arrive at Madgaon at 2.10 PM same day.

While train no 01002 special will leave Madgaon at 2.40 PM daily (except Thursday) from Sept 11 to Sept 29 and arrive at CST Mumbai at 04.25 AM in the morning next day, CR said in a release issued here.

Train no 01033 special will leave CST Mumbai at 12.20 midnight on every Thursday from Sept 10 to Oct 1 and arrive at Madgaon at 2.10 PM same day, while train no 01034 Special will leave Madgaon at 3.25 PM on every Thursday from Sept 10 to Oct 1 and will arrive at CST at 04.25 in the morning next day.

The officials said that the booking for Ganapati special trains would begin from tomorrow.

Train no 01095 Dadar Sawantwadi Dadar tri-weekly specials will leave Dadar at 07.50 AM on every Sunday, Tuesday and Friday from Sept 11 to Sept 29 and arrive at Sawantwadi at 8.30 PM same day.

Train no 01096 will leave Sawantwadi at 04.50 AM on every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from Sept 12 to Sept 30 and arrive Dadar at 3.50 PM same day, it said.

All these trains will run as fully reserved special trains on special charges and for subsequent trips, bookings will open 60 days in advance excluding the day of journey, they said.
