Mumbai: In a disgraceful incident, an office-bearer of the youth wing of the Shiv Sena was arrested for allegedly assaulting a shop assistant for refusing to provide free vada-pavs.
The accused, Sunil Mahadik, allegedly hit Chetan Geveriya (28), who works at Trupti Sweet and Farsan Mart on D J Road, Vile Parle (West), with a bamboo stick after he refused to give him 100 vada-pavs for free.
The incident occurred Saturday and the FIR was registered yesterday after CCTV footage from the shop implicated Mahadik.
