Mumbai: A footage showing a man publicly beating up a female traffic cop surfaced on Friday.
In the video, the man, who supposedly belongs to Shiv Sena, is seen thrashing the policewoman in Thane.
The cop had asked him to stop talking on his cellphone while driving, reports claimed.
The attack left her bleeding by nose, said Police PRO Gajanan Kabdule on Thursday night.
Kalgude was talking on phone while driving an SUV when he was spotted by the female cop. She signalled him to stop. However, the SUV driver tried to ran away, but the constable stood before his vehicle and prevented its further movement.
The man has been arrested.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray told ANI, "Person who beat up a woman cop in Thane has nothing to do with our party."
