In a major reshuffle in IPS cadre in West Bengal, around 45 officials have either been promoted or transferred to various posts.

Kolkata: In a major reshuffle in IPS cadre in West Bengal, around 45 officials have either been promoted or transferred to various posts.

According to a Home department notification released tonight, Additional CP (II) Jayanta Kumar Basu has been promoted as Special CP (II) in Kolkata Police.

The IGP (Law and Order) Anuj Sharma have been promoted to the rank of ADG (Law and Order), while Additional CP (III) in Kolkata Police, Jag Mohan have been promoted to the post of ADG (Enforcement Branch), among others.

The DC (Central) KP, Bastab Baidya have been promoted to

the post of DIG (Midnapore range). Manoj Kumar Verma, CP in Siliguri Police Commissionerate, has been promoted to the rank of Special IG from DIG, the notification said.

Among those transferred, Soumen Mitra, Special CP(II) KP, have been shifted to the post of Special CP(I) in KP.

Dr R Shivakumar, Additional CP(IV) in KP, has been transferred to the post of Adl CP(I) in the same force.

Jt CP (Traffic) in KP, Supratim Sarkar has been asked to take over as Jt CP (HQ).

Joint CP (Headquarter) in KP, Rajeev Mishra has been transferred as Addl CP(II) in the same force. Jt CP (Crime) in KP, Pallab Kanti Ghosh has been transferred as Jt CP(Intelligence) in the same force.

Jt CP (Armed Police) in KP, Debashis Boral has been asked to take over as Jt CP (Crime) in the same force.

DIG (Midnapore Range) Vishal Garg has been asked to take over as Jt CP (Special Task Force) in KP.

Some districts have also got new Superintendents of Police.
