AI pilots` union boycotts Jadhav`s OSD for being `mole`

An Air India pilots` union has directed its members to boycott a senior pilot, also an OSD to CMD Arvind Jadhav, calling him a "mole" of the management and charging him with working against the interests of his colleagues.

Mumbai: An Air India pilots` union has
directed its members to boycott a senior pilot, also an OSD to
CMD Arvind Jadhav, calling him a "mole" of the management and
charging him with working against the interests of his
colleagues.

"We have decided to boycott Capt Sandeep Marwah both in
the cockpit and also as a passenger for working against his
own community -- the pilots. He is playing the role of a mole,
passing on the information discussed in our meetings to the
management," Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA)
officials said.
ICPA had suspended Marwah in January for his alleged
role, they said.

Marwah, who is also an OSD to CMD Arvind Jadhav, was not
available for comments. Jadhav currently has two more OSDs -
Capt Navin Berry and Iswar Chander.

The ICPA leaders, who requested anonymity, said, "Till
date, we have not seen any official document regarding
Marwah`s appointment as OSD".

Marwah is not new to controversy as earlier another union
-- Air Corporation Employees Union (ACEU) -- had boycotted him
after he allegedly threatened action against some crew members
of a Dubai flight for refusing to serve liquor to a passenger.
The ICPA, which represents about 900 pilots of the
erstwhile Indian Airlines, has called for a day`s strike on
March 9, charging the management with backtracking on all its
commitments to the Association on several issues, including
that of pay parity with Air India pilots.

After their strike call, a tripartite conciliation
process has begun with the Labour Commissioner and the
management.
