New Delhi: Backing BJP leader Narendra Modi as a potential prime minister, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday announced plans for a procession across the country to mobilise support for the Gujarat Chief Minister.

Hitting out at those who oppose the Gujarat CM, Baba Ramdev said: "Some irresponsible leaders who are dreaming up a mirage of becoming prime minister of India seem to have forgotten the support enjoyed by Modi.”

According to a daily, the staunch supporter of the BJP leader, Ramdev, said that only Modi has the guts and the courage to take on the United Progressive Alliance government, which is facing the heat over a number of corruption instances.

In a bid to mobilise the support for Modi ahead of the 2014 General Elections, the yoga guru has announced that he would kick off his "yatra" in July.

Notably, Ramdev’s announcement came a few days after Bharatiya Janata Party leader LK Advani lavished praise on Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Advani said that Chouhan had successfully transformed his "bimaru" (sick) state into a healthy one, which was a far tougher job than what Modi faced in Gujarat.

Commenting on this, Ramdev was quoted by the daily as saying: "Shivrajji is a good man, doing good work for the country. There are many who are doing good work, including lay farmers and labourers. But there is only man with the saahas to take on the government".

"Those who cannot digest these qualities of Modi should do kapaal bhati (a yogic breathing exercise made famous by the Baba) and improve their digestion," he said, in a clear reference to Modi`s critics in BJP.

Ramdev is a bitter critic of the Congress-led UPA, and Tuesday marked the second anniversary of the police lathi charge on Ramdev`s protest in Delhi`s Ramlila ground.
