Central govt declares April 14 as holiday

The central government on Monday declared April 14 as a holiday on account of the birth anniversary of Dalit icon B R Ambedkar.

New Delhi: The central government on Monday
declared April 14 as a holiday on account of the birth
anniversary of Dalit icon B R Ambedkar.

All central government offices, including industrial
establishments, will remain closed throughout India, an
official release said.

PSU banks and other financial institutions will also
remain closed as the holiday was also being notified under the
Negotiable Instruments Act (NIA).
