Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday
accused the Centre of doing "injustice" to Bihar in execution
of Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMRGSY) and
National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) in the state.
"The Centre is doing injustice with Bihar in execution of
PMRGSY and NREGA)," Kumar told reporters on the sidelines of
his "Janata Darbar" programme.
Adequate funds required for the execution of the schemes
had not been received and even the central agencies were not
doing work "satisfactorily", he said.
"We have arranged over Rs 650 crore from our internal
resources for funding the scheme for construction of roads in
the rural sector," Kumar said, adding the state Rural
Development Department will submit the details of the funds
received against the requirement for construction of roads
under the two schemes soon.
On Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel`s reported
statement that the expansion of the Jayaprakash Narayan
International Airport here had been blocked as the state
government had failed to make available the required land for
the purpose, the chief minister said he did not want to
comment on a statement made during a political meeting.
"But I can say this much that the state has cooperated a
lot," he added.
