New Delhi: Home Minister P Chidambaram on Friday
assured that he would consider any specific request for
providing security to `Jan Chetna Yatra` of senior BJP leader
LK Advani.
"Providing security along the route that L K Advani takes
is the responsibility of the state government. But if there is
any specific request, we will certainly look into it," he said
at a press conference here.
Chidambaram was responding to a question on what steps the
central government would take to provide security during the
`yatra`.
"Well, I do not know the route the `yatra` is going to
take and I cannot recollect (receiving) any letter requesting
to provide security," he said.
Advani`s `yatra` will start from Bihar on October 11.
