Cold wave sweeps Punjab, Haryana

Cold waves today continued to sweep Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Rohtak at minus 0.8 degree Celsius was the coldest place in the two states.

Rohtak at minus 0.8 degree Celsius was the coldest place
in the two states.

Besides Rohtak, other places in Haryana also experienced
severe chill.
Hisar recorded a minimum of 0.3 deg C, while it was 1 deg
C in Narnaul and 4.5 deg C in Ambala.

Despite sunny weather, icy cold winds swept Chandigarh,
where the overnight temperature dropped to 1.9 deg C, making
it the season`s coldest night so far.

Amritsar in Punjab was the coldest place in state with
a low of zero deg C.
Patiala and Ludhiana also reeled under biting cold,
recording minimum 2.8 deg C and 3.7 deg C respectively.
