New Delhi: The BJP on Wednesday hit back at the Congress after the ruling party blamed the former for the defeat of Constitutional Amendment Bill on Lokpal.

BJP leader Balbir Punj said his party had committed itself to a strong and effective Lokpal Bill, not to the one which is subservient to Sonia Gandhi.

“If she thinks this way, then she is mistaken,” Punj told a news channel following Gandhi’s remarks this morning that the BJP’s real face had been exposed.

Even though she has been the president of the Congress party for over a decade, she doesn’t know the main opposition party, Punj added.
The BJP had yesterday voted against the Constitution Amendment Bill required to give Lokpal a Constitutional status.
