Congress rejects judicial probe into Jamia Nagar encounter

Congress on Monday rejected the demand for a judicial probe into the Jamia Nagar encounter here in which two suspected militants and a policeman were killed noting that the police have done there job `admirably`.

New Delhi, Oct 21: Congress on Monday rejected the demand for a judicial probe into the Jamia Nagar encounter here in which two suspected militants and a policeman were killed noting that the police have done there job `admirably`.
"We have not asked for a judicial inquiry. While police have done their duty admirably. Whatever doubts might be in the mind of (some) people must be answered by authorities concerned," Party spokesperson Jayanti Natrajan told reporters.

Asked about the demand made by some parties, including Samajwadi Party, for a judicial probe, she said she doesn`t want to talk about what other parties are demanding.
