Kolkata: The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) will be rejuvenated after the ongoing rectification campaign, West Bengal Chief Minister Buddahdeb Bhattacharjee said here Sunday.
"Only the communists can carry out such campaigns in the party. The party has suffered because of some (non-communist) trends (among party members). We are identifying these," Bhattacharjee, who is also a member of the party politburo, told media persons.
Bhattacharjee said the party would zero in on those making the mistakes. "We will also identify the nature of the mistakes. This will be reflected in our organisation and party. The party will be rejuvenated," he said.
Facing an erosion of support in Kerala and West Bengal since the Lok Sabha polls last year, the CPI-M has undertaken the campaign from its topmost policy making body - the politburo - up to the branch committee level.
