A 2-day meet of Communist Party of India-Marxist began Saturday to discuss draft of the political resolution to be discussed at a special meet next month.

New Delhi: A two-day meeting of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) began here Saturday to discuss the draft of the political resolution to be discussed at a special meet next month.
"The meeting will analyse the current political situation and finalise the draft to be presented at the extended Central Committee meeting to be held at Vijayawada Aug 7-10," politburo member M.K. Pandhe told.

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and all other members are attending the meeting, party officials said.

Bhattacharjee`s presence is viewed as significant as he skipped an earlier meeting after the debacle of the Left Front in the civic polls in West Bengal.

Pandhe said the draft resolution will go to the Central Committee meeting to be held here July 21-23.

The four-day Vijayawada meeting, described as a "mini Congress" of the CPI-M, comes ahead of assembly polls in West Bengal and Kerala next year.
