Puducherry: A delegation of the Puducherry Freedom Fighters Welfare Movement will call on UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi at New Delhi soon seeking her intervention for sanction of pension to genuine freedom-fighters.
Although several letters were written to the Centre and State government with the plea for the pension, nothing had been heard since last eight years, D.Sivaraj, president of the Movement alleged in a release on Sunday.
At its meeting on Sunday, the movement also wanted the Centre to ensure that the three major textile mills-Swadeshi cotton mills, Sri Bharathi Mills and Anglo- French textiles--were revamped so that a large number of youth could get job opportunities.
